How do I install Pin?

Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Pin into Applications. Open Pin from Applications.

I opened Pin. Where is it?

Look for the bird in the menu bar at the top of your screen. Pin works from there, without a permanent Dock icon or main window.

How do I capture and copy?

Press F1 and frame an area. Add annotations if needed, then press Return to copy. Paste with ⌘V in your destination app.

How do I record and share?

Double-tap F1, select an area, and press Return to record. Click the square to stop and review your video. By default, the file is copied to your clipboard. Paste with ⌘V in an app that accepts files.

Why can’t I capture my screen?

In System Settings → Privacy & Security, allow screen recording for Pin. The setting’s name varies by macOS version. Reopen Pin if macOS asks.

F1 does nothing

Try Fn + F1. Check Pin’s shortcut settings and whether another app uses the same shortcut.

My recording has no microphone audio

Enable the microphone in Pin before recording, and allow Microphone access in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Where did my capture go?

Return copies a screenshot to the clipboard; it does not save a file. For saved captures, check the folder in Pin’s Settings. The default is Pictures/Pin.
